Briskol Ben Thurman

Briskol Ben Thurman, 90, of Falls of Rough, died Thursday, April 19, 2018, at his home.  He was a farmer and a member of Blacklick Baptist Church.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Thurman.

Survivors include four sons, James (Neoma) Thurman and David Thurman, both of Falls of Rough, Roger (Shelia) Thurman of Utica, and Daniel (Debbie) Thurman of Owensboro; three daughters, Linda (J.T.) Hale, Ann (Randy) Lamb and Janice Duncan, all of Owensboro; two step-daughters, Sharon Smith of Falls of Rough and Lavon Crabtree of Leitchfield;  and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Services are 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 223,2018, at Geary Funeral Home, Fordsville with burial in Hopewell Cemetery.  Visitation is from 2:00-8:00 p.m. Sunday and after 9:00 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Zora Simpson Phipps Geary Witherspoon

Zora Simpson Phipps Geary Witherspoon, 96, of Beaver Dam, died Tuesday, April 17, 2018, at Beaver Dam Nursing & Rehab.  She was a homemaker and member of Church of Christ in Beaver Dam.  She was preceded in death by her husbands, Wade Geary and Martin Louis Witherspoon; sons, Paul Edward Geary and Donald Ray Phipps, Sr.; daughter, Rita Raymer; and great-granddaughter, Avery Smith.

Survivors include five sons, Barry Wade (Barbie) Geary of Olaton, David McKinley Geary of McHenry, Bryan Keith (Joy) Geary of Fordsville, Rickey Wayne (Mark) Geary of Smithfield and Mickey Lynn Geary of Hartford; two daughters, Shelia Kay (Ron) Gravil of Smiths Grove and Janet Miller of Beaver Dam; daughter-in-law, Carolyn Phipps of Beaver Dam; son-in-law, Steve (Cathy) Raymer of Cromwell; two brothers, Eddy Simpson of Hartford and Billy Simpson of Centertown; two sisters, Peggy Brown of Louisville and Barbara Rock of Beaver Dam; seventeen grandchildren; forty-two great-grandchildren; twelve great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Services are 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 21, 2018, at Geary Funeral Home, Fordsville, with burial in Sunnyside Cemetery in Beaver Dam.  Visitation is 2:00-8:00 p.m. Friday and after 9:00 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Alyssa Rose Tate, 20, of Fordsville, died Saturday, April 14, 2018, in Kaufman County, Texas.  She was born in Clarksville, Indiana and was a member of Newton Springs Baptist Church.

Survivors include her parents, Michael Wayne and Christina Mae Tate of Fordsville; two brothers, Cameron Tate and Phoenix Vega, both of Fordsville; a sister, Maranda (Joseph) Cahoe of Clarksville; and grandparents, Judy Sanders of Fordsville and Allen Coulter and Bev Neely of Clarksville.

Funeral services are 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 20, 2018, at Newton Springs Baptist Church, Fordsville with burial in Newton Springs Cemetery.  Visitation is 2:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday at Geary Funeral Home, Fordsville and after 9:00 a.m. Friday at the church.

Brenda Catherine Querey, 69, of Fordsville, died Tuesday, April 3, 2018, at Ohio County Hospital.  She was a former restaurant manager and was a member of Safe Harbor Christian Fellowship.  She was preceded in death by her father, Jim Wheet; her mother, Dorothy Sanders; and a brother, Charles Wheet.

Survivors include her husband, William C. Querey, Jr. of Fordsville; her children, Darrell Wayne Clark of York, Pennsylvania, Chris Querey, Aaron Querey and Clark Querey, all of Louisville, Jeff Clark of Port Richey, Florida, Bettey Kinney of Carlisle, Pennsylvania and Shelley Hubriech of Greenville, Indiana; brothers, Oliver Sanders, Billy Joe Sanders and Kenny Sanders, all of Fordsville, Wally Sanders of Hawesville and Donnie Sanders of McQuady; sisters, Verna Koschak of Hartford and Dottie Harris and Sherry Clark, both of Fordsville; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Memorial services are 6:00 p.m. Friday, April 6, 2018, at Safe Harbor Christian Fellowship Church, Pellville.  Visitation is from 3:00 p.m. until service time at the church.

Paula Kaye Eaton, 62, of Owensboro, died Sunday, March 18, 2018, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital.  She was retired from Mary Kendall Home and was a member of Zion Baptist Church.

Survivors include her daughter, Nicole Eaton; her father, Galen Seaton; and two grandchildren, Michaela Billiter and Kindred Thomason.

Lindon J. "Whitie" Willoughby

Lindon J. "Whitie" Willoughby, 88, of Fordsville, died Sunday, March 18, 2018, at the Heartford House.  He was born in Morehead to the late Homer and Carrie Willoughby.  He had worked in the oil fields, was an Army veteran and a member of Adaburg Baptist Church.  Whitie loved hunting and fishing. He had made his peace with his Lord.  He also was preceded in death by his wife, Marva Dean Willoughby; a son, Randy Willoughby; grandsons, James Eric Edge and Jason Willoughby; and sisters, Pearlina Ogle, Edna Sparks, Juanita Wright and Betty Blackburn.

Survivors include three sons, Roger (Debbie) Willoughby of Owensboro, Larry (Barbara) Willoughby of Greenville and Joe (Shawn) Willoughby of Cloverport; three daughters, Linda (Leon) Massey of Reynolds Station and Sandy (Jim) Peercy and Shelia Oglesby, both of Owensboro; a sister, Joyce Adams of Albany, IN; sixteen grandchildren; thirty-five great-grandchildren; and five great great-grandchildren.

Services are Noon Wednesday, March 21, 2018, at Geary Funeral Home, Fordsville, with burial in Fordsville Cemetery.  Visitation is from 2:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday and after 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Rosie D. Stucky, 90, of Fordsville, died Sunday, March 11, 2018, at Signature Healthcare, Hartford.  She was born in Fordsville to the late George and Virgie Rice.  She was a homemaker and a charter member of New Hope Baptist Church.  Rosie was also preceded in death by her husband, Calvin Stucky; and a grandson, Josh Duvall.

Survivors include her daughters, Carolyn (Bob) Driver of Fordsville and Sharon (Bobby) Duvall of Whitesville; three grandchildren, Rob (Christie) Driver of Fordsville, Joey (Brianne) Driver of Beaver Dam and Amy (Mark) Wilkins of Paducah; three great-grandchildren, Devin and Karissa Driver, of Beaver Dam and Brayden Duvall of Owensboro.

Services are 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 14, 2018, at New Hope Baptist Church, Fordsville with burial in Fordsville Cemetery.  Visitation is from 2:00 - 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Geary Funeral Home, Fordsville and after 9:00 a.m. Wednesday at the church.

Sharon Gail Johnson Rowe, 69, of Beaver Dam, died Thursday, March 8, 2018, at her home.  She was born in Owensboro and was a homemaker.  She was preceded in death by her father, Hoover Johnson.

Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Larry Rowe of Beaver Dam; her mother, Virginia Johnson of Beaver Dam; two daughters, Ronda (Ernie) Burden of Centertown and Racheal Colter of Beaver Dam; six grandchildren, Jennifer (Joey) Beasley, Nathanial Burden, Taylor Burden and Christian, Conner and Cameron Colter; four great-grandchildren, Aiden, Rylee and Cole Beasley and Wyatt Shultz; sisters, Sheena (Raymond) Whitaker of Beaver Dam and Karen (Pat) Ammon and Laural (Joe) Ammon, both of Hartford.

Services are 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 11, 2018 at Geary Funeral Home, Fordsville with burial in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Magan.  Visitation is from 2:00-8:00 p.m. Saturday and after 10:00 a.m. Sunday at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Sharon Rowe Memorial Fund c/o Geary Funeral Home.

Kenneth Lee Newton

Kenneth Lee Newton, 93, of Owensboro, died Sunday, March 4, 2018, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital.  He was retired from Arco Oil Refinery, was an Army veteran and a member of Roseville Baptist Church.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Newton; his parents, Raymond and Dorothy Newton; and a son, Kenneth Lee Newton, Jr.

Survivors include his sons, Raymond D. Newton of Hammond, Indiana and Roy L. Newton of Owensboro; four grandchildren, Brianna Newton McKinzie of Minnesota, Jamie Newton Deitrick and Daniel Newton, both of Las Vegas, Nevada and Sabrina Newton of Houston, Texas; eight great-grandchildren; and two great great-grandchildren.

Funeral services are 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 8, 2018. at Geary Funeral Home, Fordsville.  Burial will follow in Fordsville Cemetery with military honors by Ohio County Honor Guard.  Visitation is 2:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday and after 9:00 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
