Betty Loueen Tate Cox

Betty Loueen Tate Cox, 81, of Owensboro, died Thursday, May 23, 2019, at Twin Rivers Nursing Home.  She was born in Pattiville to the late Murray and Rosa Ethel Tate.  She was a cook, volunteered at St. Vincent de Paul for many years and was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church in Breckinridge County.

Survivors include a daughter, Deborah Loueen Cox of Owensboro; three sons, Michael Edmund Cox and Keith Earl Cox, both of Lewisport, and Jeffery Carroll Cox of Owensboro; three grandchildren, Jeremy Brown, Candy Burk and Bryant Cox; five great-grandchildren, Michaela Loueen McKone, Angelina Rosa Brown, Michael Adam Ray Burk, Chloe Katherine Brown and Skye Audrey Brown; a brother, Wesley Tate of Hornbeck, Louisiana; three sisters, Jane Hagerman of Falls of Rough, Dorothy Henderson of Hardinsburg and Patsy Hamilton of Lewisport; and several nieces and nephews.

Services are 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 28, 2019, at Macedonia Baptist Church, Falls of Rough with burial in Macedonia Cemetery.  Visitation is 2:00 - 8:00 p.m. Monday at Geary Funeral Home, Fordsville and after 9:00 a.m. Tuesdayat the church.

IN MEMORY OF
Cecil "Leon" Sanders

Cecil "Leon" Sanders, 67, of Reynolds Station, died Monday, May 20, 2019 in Fordsville.  He was born to the late Herman and Myrtle Sanders in Easton, was a carnival worker and attended Easton Community Church.  Leon was preceded also in death by brothers, Gene, Jerry and Clifford "I.V." Sanders.

Survivors include his wife, Christine Sanders of Reynolds Station; two sons, Jason Huff of Fordsville and Tony (Crystal) Sanders of Reynolds Station; two daughters, Lisa Sanders and Sherry (Mike) Troxell, both of Louisville; brothers, Denford Sanders, James Lee Sanders and Daniel Sanders, all of Fordsville and Glenn Sanders of Louisville; sisters, Darlene House, Kathy Richards, and Joyce Sanders, all of Fordsville and Karen King of Louisville; eleven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Services are 1:00 p.m. Thursday, May 23, 2019, at Geary Funeral Home, Fordsville, with burial in Easton Community Cemetery.  Visitation is 2:00 - 8:00 p.m. Wednesday and after 9:00 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

IN MEMORY OF
Tami Suzanne Matthews

Tami Suzanne Matthews, 60, of Fordsville, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 8, 2019, surrounded by her loved ones.  She was born December 26, 1958, to the late Charles and Dorthy Lard in Farmington, New Mexico.  She was a boilermaker, a homemaker and a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Pattiville.  Tami was preceded in death by her daughter, Elizabeth Matthews; granddaughter, Alanna  Matthews; and brothers, Tommy and Mike Lard.

She is survived by her husband, David Matthews of Fordsville; son, Andy (Gena) Matthews of Fordsville; daughter, Dorthy (Tim) Boyle of Philpot; grandchildren, Ella, Nolan, Charles, TJ, and David; sisters, Becki Lard and Debbie Harms, both of Albequerque, New Mexico; and brother, Rick Lard of Farmington.

Tami was very active in the school while her children were in grade school by being a Girl Scout leader and a Just Say No teacher.  There was never a dull moment when with her, and you had better be ready for anything. She will be missed by everyone who knew her.

Services are 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 11, 2019, at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with burial in Pleasant Grove Cemetery.  Visitation is 3:00 - 8:00 p.m. Friday at Geary Funeral Home, Fordsville and after 9:00 a.m. Saturday at the church.

IN MEMORY OF
Donald Rex Denton

Donald Rex Denton, 77, of Hartford, died Thursday, April 18, 2019, at his home.  He was an Air Force veteran and a former employee of Big Rivers and Walmart of Beaver Dam.  He was a Kentucky Colonel, a past Lions Club member, a founding member of the Fordsville Historical Society and a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Fordsville.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Rex Jr. and Enzie Denton; and his wife, Elaine Denton.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda Cole Denton of Hartford; a stepdaughter, Erica (Tim) Moore, a stepson, Chris Pate, and three granddaughters, Geyna Moore, Tori Moore, and Amelia Pate.  

Private graveside services will be at a later date.  Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to New Hope Baptist Church. We would like to thank Caretenders of Ohio County and Hospice of Ohio County for their loving care.

Connie Leigh Doolin Hedden

Connie Leigh Doolin Hedden, 46, of Fordsville, died Wednesday, April 17, 2019, at her home.  She had previously worked at Fordsville Medical Clinic and was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Magan,  She was preceded in death by her father, Randall Doolin.

Survivors include her mother, Cory Doolin of Hartford; two sons, Colton (Elissa) Hedden of Olaton and Garrett Hedden of Reynolds Station; two grandchildren, Jonah and Samuel Hedden of Olaton; brothers, Colby (Shelley) Doolin of Hartford and Dalton Doolin of Horse Branch; sisters, Julie Doolin Pfaadt and Karla Doolin Young, both of Fordsville; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, aunts and uncles.

Services are 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 20, 2019,  at Geary Funeral Home, Fordsville, with burial in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.  Visitation is 2:00-8:00 p.m. Friday and after 9:00 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Marshall S. Harris

Marshall S. Harris, 81, of Reynolds Station, died Saturday, April 13, 2019, at the Heartford House.  He had worked at Kimball's,  was a farmer and a member of Pellville Baptist Church.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Boyd and Ella Harris; a brother, Collis Harris; and a sister, Fay Harris.

Survivors include his wife, Wilma Harris of Reynolds Station; a daughter, Tonya (Shawn) Cartwright of Hawesville; brothers, Carlton (Betty) Harris and Ray (Teresia) Harris, all of Reynolds Station; many nieces and nephews; great-nieces and nephews; great-great nieces and nephews: and his dog Jake, whom he loved.

Services are 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 16, 2019,  at Geary Funeral Home, Fordsville, with burial in Boling Chapel Cemetery.  Visitation is 2:00 - 8:00 p.m. Monday and after 9:00 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Elmer DeWeese, 80, of Fordsville, died April 9, 2019, at Fordsville Nursing and Rehab Center.

Roger Wesley Seaton

Roger Wesley Seaton, 36, of Tell City, Indiana, died Sunday, March 31, 2019, in Tell City.  He worked for Green Industrial Services and was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include his wife, Brandy Seaton; three sons, Roger Wesley Seaton Jr., Hayden Gary Seaton, and Bentley Warren Seaton; his father, Robert Earl Seaton; his mother, Pamela Deane Thomas; brothers, Robert Wayne Seaton, Noah Earl Seaton and Clayton William Junior Seaton; and a sister, Katlyn Loraine Seaton.

Services are 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 3, 2019,  at Geary Funeral Home, Fordsville, with burial in Newton Springs Cemetery.  Visitation is from 10:00 a.m.until service time Wednesday at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Roger Seaton Memorial Fund, c/o Geary Funeral Home.

John Wesley Estes Jr.

John Wesley Estes Jr., 60, of Fordsville, died Monday, March 25, 2019, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital.  He was an Army National Guard veteran.  He was preceded in death by his parents, John W. Estes Sr. and Betty Lee Young; and a sister, Roberta Lee Bennett.

Survivors include his wife, Sherrie Estes of Fordsville; a daughter, Brandi Estes of Fordsville; a grandson, Wesley Kyle Estes of Fordsville; a brother, James Urey (Terri) Estes of Owensboro; two sisters, Brenda Kay (John) Castello of Fordsville and Barbara Renee (Rodney) Clapp of Mayfield; and several nieces and nephews.

Services are 1:00 p.m. Thursday, March 28, 2019, at Geary Funeral Home, Fordsville.  Burial will follow in Kelly Cemetery, Maceo, with military honors by the Ohio County Honor Guard.  Visitation will be 2:00 - 8:00 p.m. Wednesday and after 9:00 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions may be made to ALS Association, 13102 Eastpoint Park Blvd., Suite 101, Louisville, KY  40223.
