IN MEMORY OF
Carl Donald Richards

Carl Donald Richards passed away Friday, July 5, 2019 at his home in Philpot. He was born on October 26, 1935 in Hancock County to the late Widmer (Darby) and Luna Boling Richards. He was a member of Dawson Baptist Church in Philpot. He was preceded also in death by his sister, Mary Mae Madden (October 31, 2016) and his grandparents, Ollie and Clara Boling.

Carl was a 1953 graduate of Beechmont High School, Hawesville, and a 1959 graduate of Kentucky Wesleyan College, Owensboro. He was a member of the Thruston-Philpot Volunteer Fire Department for 40+ years, serving as assistant chief and also on the board of directors for many of those years. Carl retired from General Electric and then the KY State Fire Marshal's Office (hazardous materials division). He was also a Kentucky Colonel.

Survivors are his wife of 60 years, Barbara Matthews Richards; his son, Kevin Lynn Richards; two daughters, Carla Ann Miller (Doug) and Mary Beth Ward (Mike), all of Philpot; five grandchildren, Jared, Jesse Carl and Rachel Miller and Ryan and Jenna Ward; a nephew, David Madden (Shannon) of Lexington, South Carolina; and a niece, Jana Hall (Tim) of Owensboro.

Services are 2:00 p.m. Monday, July 8, 2019, at Geary Funeral Home, Fordsville, with Tim Hall officiating. Burial will follow in Roseville Cemetery. Visitation will be 2:00-7:00 p.m. Sunday and from noon until service time Monday at the funeral home. The family requests donations be made to the Dysontia Medical Research Foundation,1 E Wacker Drive, STE 1730, Chicago, IL 60601-9553 or to the Roseville Cemetery Fund.

Nancy Frazer Jenkins

Nancy Frazer Jenkins, 79, of Fordsville passed away Thursday, July 4, 2019 at Signature Health and Rehabilitation. She was born December 19, 1939 in Marion, KY to the late Edwin and Louise Frazer.

Nancy loved Christ, her family, church, and country. She was an avid fan of her family's sports teams, an employee of L.L. Bone Pharmacy for many years, and a charter member of New Hope Baptist Church. Nancy was known for her thoughtfulness, sending cards, gifts of party mix, and her distinct cheer from the sidelines.

Along with Nancy's parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Walker Frazer.

Nancy is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Patrick Jenkins, Sr.; children Dr. Patrick Jenkins, Jr. (Shelly,) Marialice Jenkins, Matthew (Angel) Jenkins, and JohnMark Jenkins; six grandchildren Dr. Patrick Jenkins III (Lauren,) Kirk, Tyler (Mallory,) Andrea, Mattie, and Kelsey; sisters Mary Lou Steckler and Alice (Greg) Thompson.

Visitation will be from 10 am to 2 pm Saturday, July 6 with service to follow at Geary Funeral Home in Fordsville.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to New Hope Baptist Church, PO Box 175, Fordsville, KY 42343

IN MEMORY OF
Ellen Mason Banks

Ellen Mason Banks, 94, of Fordsville, died Monday, July 1, 2019, at her home. She was born in Easton to the late Alton and Hallie Mason. She was a graduate of Western Kentucky University with an English major and two minors in Library Science and Latin. She was retired as a librarian, working at both Hawesville and Lewisport schools, and attended Easton Methodist Church. Ellen loved to read and enjoyed spending time with her cats. Starting in the 1980's, she enjoyed horseback riding and traveling.

Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Francis Clifton Banks of Fordsville; and a daughter, Gabrielle Banks of Fordsville.

Services are 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 3, 2019, at Geary Funeral Home, Fordsville, with burial in Newton Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be 2:00 - 8:00 p.m. Tuesday and after 9:00 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Expressions of sympathy may be made to Newton Springs Cemetery.

Claudine Richmond Davis

Claudine Richmond Davis, 84, of Fordsville, died Wednesday, June 12, 2019, at her home.  She was a homemaker and a member of Providence Baptist Church.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Malcolm Jurden "Gabby" Davis; and a son, Larry Davis.

Survivors include three sons, Kelly Davis, Gary Davis and Tony Davis; a daughter, Wanda Moore; a brother, Gene Richmond; and three sisters, Dona Hialdbrand, Lillian Hilton and Mary Timberlake.

Services are 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 14, 2019, at Geary Funeral Home with burial in Fordsville Cemetery.  Visitation is from 10:00 a.m. until service time Friday at the funeral home.

Nicholas Damon Decker

Nicholas Damon Decker, 25, of Owensboro, died Saturday, June 8, 2019, at his home. He was born in Owensboro and was a college student.  Nick was preceded in death by paternal grandfather, Harold Decker; maternal grandparents, Densil and Charlotte Boling; great-grandparents, George and Pearl Barker and Douglas and Eva Fuqua; and a cousin, Ryan Boarman.

Survivors include his parents, Rick and Shelley Decker of Owensboro; six brothers. Nathan (Teresa) Fuqua of Rockport, IN, Ricky Fuqua, Corey Crabtree, Christian Crabtree, Tyler Crabtree and Dylan Decker, all of Owensboro; a sister, Hannah Hammond of French Lick, IN; maternal grandparents,Brent and Jenny Fuqua of Owensboro; and maternal aunts, Patty (Tim) Boarman and Julie (Dan) Stemple, both of Reynolds Station.

Services are 2:00 p.m. Thursday,June 13, 2019, at Geary Funeral Home, Fordsville with burial in Boling Chapel Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until service time Thursday at the funeral home. Shirley Maxine Leathem, 84, of Lewisburg, died Sunday, June 2, 2019, in Russellville after a short illness.  She was a charter member of East Fork Baptist Church, Fordsville.  Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Arch Lee and Clydia Rogers Leathem; and her sisters, Virginia Huff and Linda Leathem.

Survivors include her nieces, Paula Cecil and Charita Inman; a nephew, Terrance Baker; five great-nephews;one great niece; eight great great nephews; three great great nieces; and many cousins.

Services are 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 4, 2019, at Geary Funeral Home with burial in Beatty Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until service time Tuesday at the funeral home.

Mary Ellen Masterson

Mary Ellen Masterson, 94, of Fordsville, died Wednesday, May 29, 2019, at her home.  She was a homemaker and a member of East Fork Baptist Church.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Sidney and Ellen Lancaster; and a son, Edgar Masterson.

Survivors include six sons, David (Lana) Masterson of Morristown, Tennessee, Gerald (Brenda) Masterson of Easton, Mike Masterson, Frank Masterson and Robert Masterson, all of Fordsville and James (Pamela) Masterson of Stone Mountain, Georgia; three daughters, Doris Hope of Morgantown, Linda Hicks of Fordsville and Connie (Ron) Barnes of Roseville; seventeen grandchildren; twenty-eight great-grandchildren; and eleven great great-grandchildren.

Services are 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 1, 2019, at Geary Funeral Home with burial in Beatty Cemetery.  Visitation is 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Friday and after 9:00 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Betty Loueen Tate Cox

Betty Loueen Tate Cox, 81, of Owensboro, died Thursday, May 23, 2019, at Twin Rivers Nursing Home.  She was born in Pattiville to the late Murray and Rosa Ethel Tate.  She was a cook, volunteered at St. Vincent de Paul for many years and was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church in Breckinridge County.

Survivors include a daughter, Deborah Loueen Cox of Owensboro; three sons, Michael Edmund Cox and Keith Earl Cox, both of Lewisport, and Jeffery Carroll Cox of Owensboro; three grandchildren, Jeremy Brown, Candy Burk and Bryant Cox; five great-grandchildren, Michaela Loueen McKone, Angelina Rosa Brown, Michael Adam Ray Burk, Chloe Katherine Brown and Skye Audrey Brown; a brother, Wesley Tate of Hornbeck, Louisiana; three sisters, Jane Hagerman of Falls of Rough, Dorothy Henderson of Hardinsburg and Patsy Hamilton of Lewisport; and several nieces and nephews.

Services are 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 28, 2019, at Macedonia Baptist Church, Falls of Rough with burial in Macedonia Cemetery.  Visitation is 2:00 - 8:00 p.m. Monday at Geary Funeral Home, Fordsville and after 9:00 a.m. Tuesdayat the church.

Cecil "Leon" Sanders

Cecil "Leon" Sanders, 67, of Reynolds Station, died Monday, May 20, 2019 in Fordsville.  He was born to the late Herman and Myrtle Sanders in Easton, was a carnival worker and attended Easton Community Church.  Leon was preceded also in death by brothers, Gene, Jerry and Clifford "I.V." Sanders.

Survivors include his wife, Christine Sanders of Reynolds Station; two sons, Jason Huff of Fordsville and Tony (Crystal) Sanders of Reynolds Station; two daughters, Lisa Sanders and Sherry (Mike) Troxell, both of Louisville; brothers, Denford Sanders, James Lee Sanders and Daniel Sanders, all of Fordsville and Glenn Sanders of Louisville; sisters, Darlene House, Kathy Richards, and Joyce Sanders, all of Fordsville and Karen King of Louisville; eleven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Services are 1:00 p.m. Thursday, May 23, 2019, at Geary Funeral Home, Fordsville, with burial in Easton Community Cemetery.  Visitation is 2:00 - 8:00 p.m. Wednesday and after 9:00 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
