Mary I. "Jean" Richards

Mary I. "Jean" Richards, 92, of Fordsville, died Monday, July 2, 2018, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital.  She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church in Lewisport.

Survivors include her husband, Fount Richards, Jr. of Fordsville; a brother, Gerald Voyles of Hawesville; and sisters, Helen Jackson, Beverly Kennedy, Judy Barnett and Maxine Puckett, all of Hawesville, and Arelena Norris of Whitesville.

Funeral services are 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 4, 2018, at Geary Funeral Home, Fordsville, with burial in Fordsville Cemetery.  Visitation is from 3:00 - 8:00 p.m. Tuesday and after 9:00 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

IN MEMORY OF
Darrell Glen Richards

Darrell Glen Richards, 56, of Haubstadt, Indiana, died Friday, June 29, 2018, at Deaconess Gateway, Newburgh.  He was born in East Chicago, Indiana and was of the Baptist faith.  He was preceded in death by his father, Bobby Dean Richards; and a brother, Larry Richards.

Survivors include his mother, Helen Richards of Reynolds Station; and a sister, Delsy "Del" Keown of Reynolds Station. 

Funeral services are 2:00 p.m. Monday, July 2, 2018, at Geary Funeral Home, Fordsville, with burial in Newton Springs Cemetery in Hancock County.  Visitation is from 10:00 a.m. until service time Monday at the funeral home.

Byron Moxley, Jr.

Byron Moxley, Jr., 86, of Owensboro, died Tuesday, June 19, 2018, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital.   He was born in Askins and was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church at Falls of Rough.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Acie Moxley and Elton Moxley Chancellor; and sisters, Edna Erle Moxley Hecox and Jessie Gail Moxley.

Survivors include his brother, Darrell Chancellor of Hermitage, Tennessee; and an aunt, Cathryn Wroe (Neville) Green of Fordsville.

Funeral services are 1:00 p.m. Thursday, June 21, 2018,  at Geary Funeral Home, Fordsville with burial in Macedonia Cemetery.  Visitation is from 10:00 a.m. until service time Thursday at the funeral home.

James E. "Jim" Richards

James E. "Jim" Richards, 70, of Fordsville, died Tuesday, June 19, 2018, at his home.  He was born in Easton to the late Jack and Ruby Richards.  He was a member of Newton Springs Baptist Church.

Survivors  include his wife, Rebecca Richards of Fordsville; a son, William (Kara) Richards of Fordsville; a daughter, Kimberly Walker of Marion, Illinois; brothers, Gene (Kathy) Richards and Ronnie (Vonnie) Richards, both of Fordsville; sisters, Lou (Oliver) Sanders of Fordsville and Beverly Smith of Clarksville, Tennessee; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Graveside services are 9:00 a.m. Thursday, June 21, 2018, at Newton Springs Cemetery in Hancock County.  Visitation is 3:00 - 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Geary Funeral Home, Fordsville.

Thalma Louise Robinson Seaton

Thalma Louise Robinson Seaton, 89, of Owensboro, died Friday, June 15, 2018, at Hermitage Care & Rehab.  She was retired from housekeeping at Wellington Park and Fordsville Nursing & Rehab and was a member of Riverside Baptist Church.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Seaton.

Survivors include two sons, Larry Seaton and Roger Seaton, both of Owensboro; seven grandchildren, Krista Huff (Robert Drake) of Olaton, Crystal Warren of Owensboro, Kyle Seaton (Amanda) of Elizabethtown, Connie Doolin (Andy) of Louisiana, Wendy Chadwell (Glenn) of Slaughters, Donna Blankenship (Jerry) of Frankfort and Roger Dean Seaton of Indiana; twelve great-grandchildren; and two great great-grandchildren.

Services are 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 18, 2018, at Geary Funeral Home, Fordsville, with burial in Pleasant Grove Cemetery in  Pattiville.  Visitation is from 10:00 a.m. until service time Monday at the funeral home.

William J. Knight

William J. Knight, 50, of Fordsville died Wednesday, May 23, 2018, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. He was a graduate of Fordsville High School, worked in food management and was a member of Providence Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his mother, Wilma Knight.

Survivors include his husband, David L. Kennedy of Fordsville; his father, William "Bill" Knight of Fordsville; two sisters, Tina (Jim) Zieman of Robards and Tammy (Jeff) Bartlett of Fordsville; and a niece and nephew.

Memorial services are 3:00 p.m. Thursday, May 31, 2018, at Providence Baptist Church, Fordsville.

Visitation for family and friends is from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. Thursday at the church.

Georgia A. Wells

Georgia A. Wells, 91, of Owensboro, died Tuesday, the 15th of May at her home in Owensboro.   Born in 1926 in Ohio County, she loved her family and was a wonderful seamstress and baker.  She was always the one that could light up a room with her fun attitude.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Wells.

She is survived by her son, Bruce Wells (Kim) and her daughter, Sharon Butler (David); a sister, Thilthia "Sissy" Embry; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Services are 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 19, 2018,  at Geary Funeral Home, Fordsville, with burial in Cates Cemetery in Whitesville.  Visitation is 1:00 p.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home.

Larry Gordon Kirk

Larry Gordon Kirk, 84, of Fordsville passed away Saturday, May 5, 2018,  at the Heartford House in Owensboro.  He was born August 27, 1933, in Ohio County to the late Oda and Ruby Sanders Kirk.  He was a licensed plumber and licensed electrician and was an Army veteran.  He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Stefanie Kirk.

Larry is survived by his wife of 62 years, Doris Rogers Kirk; a son, Steve Kirk: a daughter, Shelly (Pat) Jenkins; seven grandchildren, Stevie Garrison, Patrick (Lauren) Jenkins, III, Kirk Jenkins, Tyler (Mallory) Jenkins, Andrea Jenkins, Tori Kirk and Erin Kirk; three great grandsons, Landen, Camden and Jace Garrison; a brother, Jerry (Ursula) Kirk; and a sister, Joyce Winchester.

Funeral services are 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 8, 2018, at Geary Funeral Home, Fordsville with burial in Fordsville Cemetery.   Visitation will be 2:00 - 8:00 p.m. Monday and after 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Zora Simpson Phipps Geary Witherspoon, 96, of Beaver Dam, died Tuesday, April 17, 2018, at Beaver Dam Nursing & Rehab.  She was a homemaker and member of Church of Christ in Beaver Dam.  She was preceded in death by her husbands, Wade Geary and Martin Louis Witherspoon; sons, Paul Edward Geary and Donald Ray Phipps, Sr.; daughter, Rita Raymer; and great-granddaughter, Avery Smith.

Survivors include five sons, Barry Wade (Barbie) Geary of Olaton, David McKinley Geary of McHenry, Bryan Keith (Joy) Geary of Fordsville, Rickey Wayne (Mark) Geary of Smithfield and Mickey Lynn Geary of Hartford; two daughters, Shelia Kay (Ron) Gravil of Smiths Grove and Janet Miller of Beaver Dam; daughter-in-law, Carolyn Phipps of Beaver Dam; son-in-law, Steve (Cathy) Raymer of Cromwell; two brothers, Eddy Simpson of Hartford and Billy Simpson of Centertown; two sisters, Peggy Brown of Louisville and Barbara Rock of Beaver Dam; seventeen grandchildren; forty-two great-grandchildren; twelve great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Services are 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 21, 2018, at Geary Funeral Home, Fordsville, with burial in Sunnyside Cemetery in Beaver Dam.  Visitation is 2:00-8:00 p.m. Friday and after 9:00 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
