Anna Jacqueline "Jackie" Pulliam Hobbs

Anna Jacqueline "Jackie" Pulliam Hobbs, of Fordsville, passed Feb. 10, 2020. She was a daughter of the late Ernest and Allene Matthews Pulliam. She retired from A&E Hardware and was a member of Wesley Chapel Church. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dewey Hobbs; a sister, Lovee Fuqua Gunter; and a brother, Maxie Pulliam.

Jackie is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Dianne and Mitch Donohue; two sons and daughters-in-law, Lee and Linda Hobbs and Joe and Kathy Hobbs; four grandchildren, Jennifer Snyder, Jessica Snyder-Smith, Zach Hobbs and Justin Hobbs; five great-grandchildren, Brittany Richards, Jacob DeSensi, Laura Duncan, Randi Smith and Matthew Smith; one great-great-grandchild, Gannon Pogue; one sister, Dortha Boling Perry; and several cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 13, 2020, at Geary Funeral Home in Fordsville conducted by Dr. Mitchell Donohue with interment following at Wesley Chapel Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and after 9 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Ora Jean White, 86, of Owensboro, died Friday, February 7, 2020, at Welington Parc. She had worked at GE and was a member of Buena Vista Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Elva Perry; and her husband, James Phillip White.

Survivors include her son, Tony (Andrea) White of Owensboro; a granddaughter, Sierra White of Chattanooga, Tennessee; and a grandson, Stetson White of Bowling Green.

Services are 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 11, 2020, at Geary Funeral Home with burial in Wesley Chapel Cemetery, Fordsville. Visitation will be 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Monday and after 9:00 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Michelle Lynn Mason

Michelle Lynn Mason, 45, of Hartford, died Tuesday, February 4, 2020, at Norton Brownsboro Hospital in Louisville. She was employed at Wayland Alexander Elementary School and was a member of Narrows Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Robert and Dorothy Smith; and paternal grandparents, Richard and Betty Mosley.

Survivors include her father, Freddy and Sharon Mason of Beaver Dam; her mother, Kathy and Cliff Burden of Hartford; a daughter, Whitney Michelle (Eddie) Burden of Hartford; one grandchild, Lyla Michelle Burden; three sisters, Shannon (Josh) Huff of Hartford, Piper Mason of Owensboro and Cassie Burden of Greenville; three brothers, Lil' Fred Mason of Hartford, Luke Burden (Lindsey Burden) of Beaver Dam and Joey (Randy) Burden of Hartford; two nieces, Katelynn Mason and Paxton Huff, both of Hartford.

Services are 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 8, 2020, at Geary Funeral Home with burial in Providence-Smith Cemetery.

Visitation will be 2:00 - 8:00 p.m. Friday and after 9:00 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

IN MEMORY OF
Edward Lee Emerson

Edward Lee Emerson, 89, of Owensboro, passed at Twin Rivers Nursing Home on January 26, 2020. He has made his journey home to the Lord. Edward was born October 23, 1931, to the late Frank and Evelyn Emerson in David City, Nebraska.

Edward was a US Navy Korean War Veteran. He retired as a steel worker for the Indiana Labor Union. He enjoyed watching football, NASCAR and sitting, talking with family and friends.

Edward was preceded also in death by his sister, Prysila: brother, Richard Emerson; wife, Edith Rice Emerson; in-laws, Avery and Nova Rice, Earl Ray Rice and Avery Rice, Jr.; and companion, Vera Rhineburger.

Surviving relatives include, Ronnie Rice (Mary), Ronnie Rice Jr. (Francis), Amanda Newton (Clint), Leslie Karney; and several other great nieces and nephews.

Graveside services are 1:00 p.m. Saturday at Friendship Community Cemetery, Fordsville, with military honors by the Ohio County Honor Guard. Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. until service time Saturday at Geary Funeral Home, Fordsville. Special thanks to the nurses and staff of Hillcrest and Twin Rivers who took care of Edward.

Linda Faye Davison Masdon

Linda Faye Davison Masdon, 78, of Newnan, Georgia, died Sunday, January 26, 2020, at her home. She was born in Whiting, Indiana to the late Edward and Gladys Davison.

She attended Dundee School until it closed and then attended Fordsville High School. She was a retired travel agent for Eastern Airlines and Sato Travel Agency, and was a member of First Baptist Church, Peachtree City, Georgia. Linda was preceded also in death by a son, Darrell Lynn Tucker; a daughter, Vikki Rochelle Tucker; and a sister, Kay Peters.

Survivors include her husband, Gerald Masdon of Newnan; a daughter, Lisa (Glen) Terry of Hiram, Georgia; two step-children, Jamie (Christy) Masdon of Griffian, Georgia and Melissa (David) Sheffield of Fairburn, Georgia; three grandchildren, Chase Terry, Thomas Terry and Jennifer Terry; and a brother, Charles Davison of Fordsville.

Services are 12:00 noon Thursday at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Pattiville, with burial in Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until service time Thursday at the church.

Otha Leon Massey

Otha Leon Massey, 72, of Fordsville, passed away peacefully at his home on January 5, 2020. He was born to the late Ray and Janie Massey. Leon was born and raised in Okemah, Oklahoma and moved to Kentucky in the mid 60's. In addition to his parents, Leon was preceded in death by two brothers, Kenny Massey and Steve Massey and his sister, Norma Davis. Leon was a devoted husband and father and loved spending time with his family. He worked over 30 years at Aleris and retired from Home Depot. He spent many years as an organizer for the United Steel Workers of America, including serving as President of the local USWA. He loved his many hobbies, including raising livestock, tending to his garden and hunting/fishing over the years. His recent interests included history, politics and travel. He attended Mt. Olive General Baptist Church.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife of 54 years, Linda Willoughby Massey; three sons, Jeff (Kim) Massey, Mark Massey and Chris (Jen companion) Massey; eight grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and his sisters, Joy Chesser, Donna Magness and Judy (David) Brandt.

Services are 12:00 noon Wednesday at Geary Funeral Home, Fordsville, with burial in Fordsville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3:00 - 8:00 p.m. Tuesday and after 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Brenda Lee Young, 75, of Lexington, died Saturday, January 4, 2020, at Baptist Health in Lexington. She was a homemaker and a member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Lexington. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hubert Oliver and Anna Mary Leach; and a sister, Janice McKinney.

Survivors include her husband, Charles Young of Lexington; two sons, Will (Angela) Young of Versailles and Charlton (Lisa) Young of St. Louis, Missouri; three grandchildren, Meredith Young and Natalie Young, both of St. Louis and Cameron Young of Versailles; and a sister, Shelia Joann Oliver (Roger) Thurman of Utica.

Services are 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 7, 2020, at Geary Funeral Home, Fordsville, with burial in Fordsville Cemetery. Visitation is 2:00 - 8:00 p.m. Monday and after 9:00 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Audrey "Harve" Smith Sr.

Audrey "Harve" Smith Sr., 95, of Reynolds Station, died Saturday, December 14, 2019, at Ohio County Hospital. He was born in Easton to the late Charlie and Lizzie Smith. He was a WW II Army veteran, was retired from Hancock County Road Department and farming, and was a member of Easton Community Church.

Survivors include his wife Marie Smith of Reynolds Station; four sons, Marion (Carolyn) Smith and Audrey (Shirley) Smith Jr., both of Fordsville, Donnie (Brenda) Smith and James (Alta) Smith, both of Reynolds Station; three daughters, Eva (Marvin) DeWitt of Fordsville, Doris (Leslie) Walling of Reynolds Station and Linda Rearden of Dundee; sixteen grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; and fourteen great great-grandchildren.

Services are 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 17, 2019, at Easton Community Church with burial in Easton Community Cemetery. Visitation is 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Monday at Geary Funeral Home, Fordsville and from 9:00 a.m. until service time Tuesday at the church.

Stella Marie Staples

Stella Marie Staples, 93, of Reynolds Station, died Tuesday, November 26, 2019, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. She was born in Columbia to the late Caleb and Ollie Mae Squires. She was retired from Montpelier Glove Factory and was a member of Newton Springs Baptist Church.

Stella was preceded also in death by her husband, Charles Webster Staples; a son, Roy Staples; brothers, James Squires, Richard Squires, Austin Squires, Stanley Squires and twins, Roy and Coy Squires; and sisters, Cecil Shaw and Clarice Jeffries.

Survivors include her children, Rollon Staples of Lewisport, Raymond Staples (Dianne) of Hawesville, John Staples (Marilyn Settles) of Fordsville and Tina Camplin (Allen) of Sacramento; nine grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.

Services are 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 30, 2019, at Geary Funeral Home, Fordsville, with burial in Newton Springs Cemetery. Visitation is 4:00 -8:00 p.m. Friday and after 9:00 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
